The Knicks have signed Jarrett Jack to a one-year non-guaranteed deal and the question now arises, why are the Knicks stacking up on so many guards? They have drafted French point guard Frank Ntilikina and signed Tim Hardaway Jr. and Ramon Sessions. They also still have Courtney Lee, Ron Baker, and Chasson Randle. They picked up first-year players Jamel Artis, Damyean Dotson, and Xavier Rathan-Mayes. In total, they have 10 guards on their roster. This will cause a big problem when it comes to the distribution of minutes.

Some of the guards will probably be sent to the G-League while some might get cut. Jarrett Jack will probably make the roster to mentor young Ntilikina in the NBA game. Sessions would help Frank as well. Jack, last playing in February on a tenny contract for the New Orleans Pelicans was ruled out for four to six months with surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. The same knee has been giving Jack probably for about two years now, first suffering a torn ACL and a small meniscus tear while he was a member of the Brooklyn Nets.

Jack has career averages of 11 points and 4.5 assists in his 12-year career (stats provided by basketball-reference.com).
