Besides the Kyrie Irving trade (which now may or may not even happen), there hasn't been much NBA news recently.  There certainly hasn't been much meaningful Bucks news, which is probably a good thing.  The developers, 2K Sports, of the coming video game NBA 2K18 are helping us get through this boring part of the offseason by releasing screenshots and trailers for the game.  A few days ago, they revealed some big information regarding the newest addition to the game, "All-Time Teams."

Each of the 30 NBA teams has an All-Time Team, and the roster is comprised of mostly team greats.  Unfortunately, many of the rosters have recency bias and leave off more deserving players in favor of hyped up young players who haven't had any type of career in the NBA.  There is also the issue of player rights, which is most likely what happened with some of the Bucks players.  Here's who made the All-Time Bucks Team:

  • Oscar Robertson (94 OVR)
  • Sidney Moncrief (93 OVR)
  • Ray Allen (90 OVR)
  • Bob Dandridge (88 OVR)
  • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (99 OVR)
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo (90 OVR)
  • Michael Redd (88 OVR)
  • Vin Baker (87 OVR)
  • Terry Cummings (87 OVR)
  • Paul Pressey (85 OVR)
  • Jon McGlocklin (85 OV)
  • Bob Lanier (84 OVR)
  • Ricky Pierce (84 OVR)
  • Brandon Jennings (83 OVR)
  • Andrew Bogut (83 OVR)

The team looks good for the most part, but there are some issues.  Brandon Jennings and Andrew Bogut are two players who shouldn't be on this list.  Players like Sam Cassell, Marques Johnson, and "Big Dog" Glenn Robinson are easily more deserving of a spot than Jennings and Bogut.  This leads me to believe that 2K Sports may have had some issues getting the rights to these players.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be the case with Marques Johnson, as he sent out this tweet saying 2K Sports didn't seek his permission.

Apart from that, I am looking forward to using this team.  The starting lineup of Robertson, Moncrief, Allen, Dandridge, and Abdul-Jabbar is one of the best in the game.  NBA 2K18 comes out on September 19th.
