Dealing with trade deadline rumors and other things.
Dealing with trade deadline rumors and other things.
There are so many things that make the NBA great outside of the actual basketball. The social media aspect is an important aspect because it allows us a glimpse of our favorite player's personalities. We over at NBA Twitter love to over analyze vague tweets, likes, and retweets. It is just what we do. Especially during the trade deadline. The NBA season is a long one, so we find ways to amuse ourselves along the way and the players and their social media make it very easy for us to do so.
How to deal with trade rumors
During trade deadline, all sorts of trade rumors pop up. Twitter GMs have fired up the trade machine and shared their ideas with anyone that will listen
1. Comb through cryptic tweets both new and old, which could mean what they say. Or they could have a deeper meaning.
For example:
This could mean control what you can control. OR he could be referring to his own trade status, which is out of his control. Cleveland is also out of control. So Kyle Kuzma to Cleveland confirmed. It's all about making the small connections during the trade deadline so you won't be caught off guard when trades do happen.
There was a rumor going around that LeBron could meet with Golden State during free-agency. This tweet from 2015 makes much more sense now.
2. Run with it because Jokes > Facts. It makes this season easier to manage
Dealing with trade deadline grief
Blake Griffin is now a Detroit Piston. Not everyone is a fan, especially when you love the Clippers (yikes), Blake has been a cornerstone of the organization for so long and helped the team achieve. There's bound to be some stages of grief. There are 3 stages of NBA grief and/or news. Anger/shock, jokes, and then acceptance. Not necessarily in that order, all 3 happened here.
Jokes
Acceptance
Baby Lakers
The young Lakers core is fun. They're figuring out how to win on the court and having fun together off the court.
Josh Hart is still waiting for his high five
Whether or not you're a fan of the Lakers, the personalities are fun to watch
The dynamic duo has made it to LA. The streets aren’t ready.
Tobias and Boban. The friendship no one knew they needed. They sing. They dance. They ball. They're finally in a city where their talents can take them to another level.
We don't deserve them.
Athletes, they're just like us
We think of athletes as superhuman, with the ability to push themselves to the brink of their power and perform amazing feats. Which is true on one level (word to Giannis), but sometimes they're just ordinary people.
Every time Paul. Every time.
