Injury Replacements To Pick Up For Week 15
The injury bug has been making its way through the NBA, and few fantasy basketball teams are left unscathed. To help managers stay afloat, here are some replacements to pick up off the waivers.

Jalen Smith
While Zach Collins hasn’t played since December 27, Smith has really taken his game up a notch over the past few weeks. He’s typically been an efficient producer with limited playing time, and lately his minutes have surged to around the 30s. #25’s strongest assets are points, rebounds, blocks, and threes.
Naji Marshall
Two weeks ago, the Mavericks received grim news that Anthony Davis would be out until late February with a hand injury.
Marshall has been phenomenal for Dallas since then. The 28-year-old has been a factor on both ends of the court, but is most impactful in points, rebounds, assists and shooting percentages. He’s quickly being snatched off waivers and should be picked up soon if still available.
Brandin Podziemski and Buddy Hield
Yet another ACL tear has struck the league, this time ending Jimmy Butler’s season early.
Podziemski moved into the first unit to replace the All-Star. While he’s struggled with inconsistency and inefficiency, he’ll have more opportunities to make an impact. The third-year guard can provide some value in the main categories and has recorded some strong performances lately. Hield is also finally getting some playing time. The sharpshooter has provided a nice scoring punch and is a great add for managers who need points and threes.
Jock Landale, Cam Spencer, and Cedric Coward
The Grizzlies have been shorthanded with Zach Edey and Santi Aldama on the sidelines. Joining them now is Ja Morant, who is out for the next three weeks with a UCL sprain.
The depleted team has turned to Landale in the frontcourt. His minutes rose to nearly 30 per game over the past few weeks. The big man’s proven to be a solid double-double threat, shot-blocker and three-point shooter. Likewise, Spencer and Coward have climbed up the rankings. The former is a great source of offensive stats, thanks to his increased workload as a scorer and playmaker. Coward is a very versatile player who doesn’t hurt any category. The rookie has flashed his potential throughout the season and is currently enjoying a nice stretch.
Bobby Portis and Kyle Kuzma
Giannis Antetokounmpo is out for an extended absence of four to six weeks due to a calf injury. Kevin Porter Jr.’s news was also grim, as he has no time to return from his oblique strain.
While he’s off the fantasy radar when Antetokounmpo is healthy, Portis now has appeal. He doesn’t offer many stocks, but is a good source of points, rebounds and threes. The power/forward center has also become more involved as a facilitator recently. However, it’s Kuzma who’s replaced Antetokounmpo in the starting lineup. He’s known to be streaky, but has provided better numbers with the first unit. The forward’s best contributions lie in points and rebounds, with some assists and blocks.
Aaron Wiggins and Ajay Mitchell
The Thunder are dealing with some injuries to their core. The most notable one is Jalen Williams’ two-week absence due to a hamstring strain.
Both Wiggins and Mitchell have missed a few contests lately. However, they’ve played well when healthy. They offer some scoring and other stats across the board. Just make sure to monitor their availability.
Collin Gillespie and Grayson Allen
On Friday, Devin Booker sprained his ankle. He’s set to be re-evaluated in one week.
In the meantime, Gillespie and Allen will shoulder heavier workloads in their leader’s absence. Allen got off to a hot start early in the season, but injuries forced many managers to drop him. Now that he’s got another chance, he’s an excellent add for his scoring, rebounding, playmaking and steals. Gillespie’s heated up on the offensive end despite some up-and-down performances. He also offers some production on the other end through his ability to grab boards and steals.
Sandro Mamukelashvili
The rising rookie, Collin Murray-Boyles, was a popular pickup until he injured his thumb four games ago. Jakob Poeltl is also yet to return (back) and lacks a clear timeline.
Mamukelashvili has put together a few strong outings throughout the year, but lately he’s been a pretty consistent source of fantasy value. The big man’s ranking has skyrocketed thanks to his well-rounded numbers.
