Fantasy basketball season enters week 12 as the calendar ticks over to 2018 and this article has everything you need to stream in your head-to-head leagues.

Hello, and Happy New Year.  Week 12 begins 2018 and brings us a slightly smaller slate of games than usual.  More on that to come shortly.  Do not forget to check out the fantastic Advanced Schedule Grid on Hashtag Basketball.  Without further ado, let us jump right into it.

Weekly lock leagues

Tip of the week:  Only eight teams play four games this week.  That increases the chances you are streaming a high volume player in your weekly league.  Conversely, six teams have just two games on the schedule.  It is always difficult to throw those players in your lineup, but you may not have a choice this week.

Note: 16 teams play three games this week, so do not be surprised to see more than a few of them in your starting grid.  It is always difficult to bench a top 50 option with three games, but be sure to check your waiver wire.

Top 10 potential pickups playing four games:  (All ownership percentages based on ESPN leagues and under 40 percent owned was the cut-off for available on the waiver wire)

  1. Justin Holiday- Chicago Bulls (39.6%).
  2. Tyus Jones- Minnesota Timberwolves (12.8%)- Assists and steals must-own while Jeff Teague is out.
  3. Alex Len- Phoenix Suns (33.7%)- 8.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in December.
  4. John Henson- Milwaukee Bucks (21.8%)- 1.5 blocks, 0.5 steal, and 6.5 rebounds are the per game season numbers for Henson.
  5. Danny Green- San Antonio Spurs (11.0%)- Threes, steals, blocks add.
  6. Larry Nance Jr- Los Angeles Lakers (20.1%)- Averaging 1.5 steals per game with 6.6 rebounds on the season.
  7. Jarrett Jack- New York Knicks (6.0%)- 6.1 assists per game in December with 4.0 rebounds in 25.5 minutes. Not much else, but assists are challenging to come by in many leagues.
  8. Jamal Crawford- Minnesota Timberwolves (6.3%)- Points and threes add getting more minutes with the Teague injury.
  9. Frank Ntilikina- New York Knicks (3.6%)- minutes appear to be trending up, and Frank is averaging 1.3 steals per game in limited action.
  10. Tyson Chandler- Phoenix Suns (18.9%)- Likely does not play all four games but averaging 10.0 rebounds per game in December.

Daily roster changes

First, a word on the schedule itself: Two days feature double-digit games with Wednesday having 12 and Friday ten.  I will only take out Wednesday’s game for our back-to-back monitoring this week.

NOTE: The top schedules this week regarding quality games are the Portland Trail Blazers, LA Clippers, and Atlanta Hawks.  All three teams have three games on light schedule days.

Back-to-backs

Monday-Tuesday

Portland Trail Blazers

Al-Farouq Aminu (16.8%)- A unique combination of 1.9 3-pointers made, 7.0 rebounds, 0.8 steals, and 0.9 blocks make him an intriguing add.

Shabazz Napier (11.6%)- Playing fantastic with Lillard out, but it appears Dame will return at some point this week.

Ed Davis (3.0%)- Deep league rebounds stream.

Tuesday-Thursday pseudo

LA Clippers

Austin Rivers (38.7%)- Has an Achilles injury so monitor his status plus Blake Griffin is back to take plenty of touches from Rivers, but expect the 3-pointers and steals to stick if nothing else.

Milos Teodosic (14.8%)- Worth owning for the threes, assists, and rebounds.  Add him.

Jawun Evans (0.2%)- 1.1 steals per game in 20.4 minutes makes him a stream in 14 or more team leagues.

Thursday-Friday

No teams scheduled.

Friday-Saturday

Boston Celtics

Marcus Smart (39.6%)- Should be owned in 75% of leagues or more. Add him!!!

Terry Rozier (13.8%)- hot in his last three games scoring over 13 points in each game with at least four rebounds and an assist.

Denver Nuggets

Wilson Chandler (35.3%)- Always underrated in fantasy should provide 20 points, ten rebounds, one steal and one block over the back-to-back set.

Trey Lyles (24.1%)- Taking advantage of the Millsap injury, Lyles is averaging 27.5 minutes, 14.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.1 3-pointers made per game in December.  Worth an add.

Detroit Pistons

Ish Smith (24.5%)- Pick up Smith because Reggie Jackson is out and he is productive when given minutes.  Should be owned in every league.

Reggie Bullock (2.2%)- Playing well with Avery Bradley out, but Bradley practiced Sunday.  Monitor this situation.

Washington Wizards

Markieff Morris (27.4%)- Morris is slowing turning it on and will be worth owning when we look back at this season.

Kelly Oubre Jr. (23.0%)- Scored double-digit points in seven straight.  Also, averaging almost one steal per game for the season with 5.1 rebounds for the season.

Chicago Bulls

Justin Holiday (39.6%)- Good across the board production for the season.  Threes, steals, and blocks are what you buy him for, but the rest of the numbers are solid except the terrible FG%.

Denzel Valentine (11.3%)- Averaging 27.3 minutes for December, but an underwhelming stat line.  Add for assists and rebounds for his position and hope for more.

Bobby Portis (26.1%)- limited minutes, but still producing points and rebounds.

Jerian Grant (5.7%)- deeper league assists addition.

Milwaukee Bucks

John Henson (21.8%)- blocks and rebounds add who will hurt your FT%.

Tony Snell (1.2%)- deeper league 3-pointers made stream.

Matthew Dellavedova (0.4%)- Add for assists in 14 or more team leagues.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Tyus Jones (12.8%)- Assists and steals make him worth holding while starting point guard Jeff Teague is out.

Jamal Crawford (6.3%)-  More minutes due to injury and taking advantage with points and threes.

Saturday-Sunday

No teams scheduled

Looking ahead to Week 13

Perhaps, you have an extra pickup heading into Sunday’s games and would like to take advantage of both that and the beginning of next week.  Here is the place for you:

Sunday-Monday of Week 13

Atlanta Hawks

Taurean Prince (35.2%)- You know what I think by now

Ersan Ilyasova (18.1%)- playing well lately, but always good for a steal per game, five rebounds, and 1.5 3-pointers made.

Marco Belinelli (6.6%)- 1.9 threes and 1.0 steal per game for the season with 12.1 points. Underrated option

San Antonio Spurs

Danny Green (11.0%)- Threes, steals, blocks stream

Kyle Anderson (8.5%)- averaging 5.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 23.3 minutes per game for December

Tony Parker (6.8%)- Deep league assists add
