Fantasy basketball managers are facing a difficult week with the All-Star break on the horizon. Here is how to maximize your games played in head-to-head leagues.

Fantasy basketball managers need to be on their toes this week. The All-Star break begins on Friday, so some leagues combine the week to count until March 14. Others end just play this matchup from Monday to Thursday. Fantasy managers need to know their scoring and how to react.

Today, we will attempt to help fantasy managers in both sets of leagues, but our primary focus will just be before the All-Star break. There are too many unknowns in this uncertain year about the following week. The goal is to maximize games played, so here is a look at the slate using the Advanced Schedule Grid.

Teams that play three times from March 1 to 4 (5)

Nuggets, Pacers, Pelicans, Blazers, Spurs

Teams that play two times (14)

Hawks, Celtics, Nets, Hornets, Bulls, Cavaliers, Mavericks, Pistons, Warriors, Rockets, Clippers, Lakers, Grizzlies, Heat, Bucks, Knicks, Thunder, Magic, 76ers, Suns, Kings, Raptors, Jazz, Wizards

Team that plays once (1)

Timberwolves

Fantasy basketball talking points

  1. The All-Star break is the perfect time to assess your roster and make trades. Games stop for a week and fantasy managers have more time to dive into the numbers. Be sure to analyze and adjust accordingly.
  2. The Toronto Raptors are the team to watch. They may not play a game before the All-Star break after Sunday’s contest was postponed because of health and safety protocols. In a weekly locks league, I’d sit all Raptors unless there is a certainty they will play before lineups lock.
  3. Be on your toes. Teams could rest players to give them more time off over the break. Be sure to check your lineups closely.
  4. The Nuggets and Spurs have the best schedules if only playing Monday to Thursday because they have three games with two on light schedule days. The Spurs have the overall best mark if looking through March 11 as they play six times and avoid the one-day with double-digit contests.
  5. The Lakers have the worst overall schedule with just three games before March 14. The Timberwolves take the case when looking at just this week as they only play once.
