Fantasy basketball deep league suggestions for games between the 26th of December and 1st of January.

If you’re reading this, congratulations, you’ve just woken from your Christmas day food coma. Now it’s time to take a look at the waiver wire for some players owned in 8% or less of Yahoo leagues.

Iman Shumpert (Cleveland Cavaliers, SG/SF)

Owned in 8% of Yahoo leagues.
3 games scheduled between Monday 26th December and Sunday 1st January.

Why is Iman worth adding?
Iman is the natural replacement for J.R Smith, who is out for the next 12-14 weeks as he recovers from thumb surgery. You can expect to see Shumpert reach close to 30 minutes a game on most nights, but given his low per-minute production, don’t expect anything outside of some 3s and steals, with a few double-digit scoring nights.

Raymond Felton (Los Angeles Clippers, PG/SG)

Owned in 2% of Yahoo leagues.
4 games scheduled between Monday 26th December and Sunday 1st January.

Why is Raymond worth adding?
Raymond has started the past 2 games Chris Paul has been injured, averaging 36 minutes, 8 PTS, 7 REB, 4 AST and 1.5 STL. He makes for a nice short-term add, given the news that Paul will also miss the next 2 games.

Austin Rivers (Los Angeles Clippers, PG/SG)

Owned in 1% of Yahoo leagues.
4 games scheduled between Monday 26th December and Sunday 1st January.

Why is Austin worth adding?
Austin will also see an increase in playing time (and production) with the Paul sidelined, and has averaged 10 PTS, 1.8 3PM, 1.8 STL and 2.5 AST over the past 7 days.

Caris LeVert (Brooklyn Nets, SG)

Owned in 1% of Yahoo leagues.
3 games scheduled between Monday 26th December and Sunday 1st January.

Why is Caris worth adding?
Caris is being added to this list, not because of his current production, but what he can potentially produce once his minutes consistently hit the 20+ minute mark. He’s still being eased into the Nets rotation, but his play so far has shown his ability to handle the ball, hit the outside shot and get the occasional steal. He’s somebody to keep an eye on if you can handle his poor FG% (which can be expected) and you’re in a super-deep league.
