The Dream enter Week 3 of the WNBA season with two of the top teams in the WNBA, the Connecticut Sun and the Seattle Storm. They also face the relocated team, the Las Vegas Aces.

The Atlanta Dream are currently 2-3 on the season and face two difficult teams this week. They face the undefeated Connecticut Sun at home on Tuesday and travel to face the newest team, the Las Vegas Aces on Friday, and then face the elite Seattle Storm on Sunday. Listed below is the game preview for both of these matchups.

CONNECTICUT SUN VS THE ATLANTA DREAM - JUNE 5TH

TIME: 8:00 pm EST

TV: WNBA League Pass, Fox Sports South, NBC Sports Boston

The Atlanta Dream will welcome the undefeated Connecticut Sun into McCamish Pavillion and will have to try to stop the best team in the WNBA. They will have their hands full as the Connecticut Sun are currently the #1 team in the league in terms of points per game (97.4), the best rebounding team (38.8 rbg) and are the best shooting team (50.8 FG%) per game. It will require a total team defensive effort from the Atlanta Dream to win this game. The Dream have really struggled shooting the ball the past two games and it cost them a win against the Mercury last week. Against the top offense in the WNBA, it won't work. The Sun bring firepower both in their starting lineup and off the bench. The Sun are 5-0 and have had multiple blowout wins. The Dream will need to figure out a way to rebound well, to defend against their shooters and to have the bench step up. This is a difficult task for the Dream who are still trying to figure out how to play together on the floor. This is also a reunion for head coach Nicki Collen as she was the assistant coach for Sun coach and GM Curt Miller before she accepted the position of being the Atlanta Dream head coach. If the Dream win this game, it should be a major confidence boost for the Dream.

ATLANTA DREAM AT THE LAS VEGAS ACES - JUNE 8TH

TIME: 3 pm EST, 12 pm local time

TV: WNBA League Pass

After facing the Sun at home, the Dream travel on the road to face the newest team in the WNBA, the Las Vegas Aces. The Las Vegas Aces are currently in a rebuild mode and feature the #1 draft pick A'ja Wilson who is off to a hot start in her rookie season. The Aces are currently the 11th best team in the WNBA and have lost both close and blowout games so far in this early part of the season. This should be an easy victory for the Atlanta Dream simply because the Aces don't have an answer yet for Angel McCoughtry. Tiffany Hayes may also have a big game and Elizabeth Williams, will have a big defensive impact in this game. After facing the #1 team in the league, the Dream can win this game if they execute well and defend both Wilson and McBride closely enough. It is also the easiest game, but it could also be a trap game if the Dream start looking ahead to their Sunday matchup with Seattle.

ATLANTA DREAM AT THE SEATTLE STORM - JUNE 10TH

TIME: 7 pm EST, 4 pm local time

TV: WNBA League Pass, JoeTV

After facing the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night and the Las Vegas Aces in Las Vegas, they head to Seattle on Sunday. They have yet another difficult task ahead as the Storm are currently the third best team in the WNBA. They have gotten off to a hot start thanks in large part to the play of their superstars, Jewell Loyd and Breanna Stewart who are second and third in the WNBA scoring leaders category. Natasha Howard has also been excellent for them as well. The Dream have to try to slow down the second best scoring team (91.6) in points per game. Angel McCoughtry will need to have a big game as well as Renee Montgomery. Jessica Breland will be tested against the likes of both Howard and Stewart. In order for the Dream to pull out a big victory against one of the top teams in the WNBA, they will have to shoot well and will have to slow down Seattle's high powered offense. Tiffany Hayes will also need to defend Jewell Loyd who looks like an early MVP favorite. Another key will be being able to shoot well from distance as this will also the lanes to open up and for both Hayes and McCoughtry to attack the paint. If the Dream come away with a road win in Seattle, they will have gotten a major win against an elite level team this season.
