A quick summary of the Toronto Raptors current injury report, along with it's the implications to the lineup.

As of December 10th, the Toronto Raptors are currently dealing with injuries to Delon Wright and Lucas Nogueira.

Delon Wright

Delon dislocated his right shoulder on November 15, during Toronto’s 125-116 win at New Orleans. It is the same shoulder he had surgery on previously. After a medical evaluation in New York, Wright will not require surgery.

As of November 22nd, Delon’s estimated time until he returned was one month. The consensus is for him to see game action again around Christmas. On December 4th, a release came out that Delon had begun shooting, and is progressing right on time.

For the guard rotation, we’ve seen a small minutes bump for Lowry and heftier minutes for Fred VanVleet. With how well the Minivan has been performing, it won’t be a difficult task to ease Delon back into the rotation. Freddy has earned Casey’s trust, and won’t be in any rush to get Wright inserted into the pure backup role again.

Before the injury (14 games), Delon was averaging a career-high in minutes, points, rebounds, assists, FGA/FGM, and field goal percentage:

7.6/2.4/2.6 … 20.9 minutes a game on 52.3% shooting.

Lucas Nogueira

On November 29th, Bebe left the Charlotte game with an undisclosed injury. Later they announced that he had yet another calf injury (his second one since the preseason).

The diagnoses on December 1st was a muscle tear in his right calf. He received a platelet-rich plasma injection to aid the recovery process.

His timetable for return is a tad murky. As of now, the estimation is a couple of weeks. Until then, Jakob Poeltl will be soaking up the majority of those minutes.

For those of you playing in deep fantasy leagues, or even non-deep leagues but need some efficient FG% and rebounding, Poeltl could be a consideration down the stretch. He recently posted a career-high 18 points, on a perfect 8 of 8 shooting against Indiana, and has looked solid on both ends of the floor. More importantly, he’s been consistently getting more minutes than Valanciunas at the five spot, leading to some career-high rates of usage.

For Bebe, it’s been a down year. You may be able to account this to a nagging calf-injury, but his numbers are down on all fronts from last year:

3.9/2.7/0.4 … 12 minutes a game, 59.6 fg%, and 1.2 blocks a game.
