Utah Jazz
Tuesday, 25 October 2016 at 10:00 PM ET Home
The Utah Jazz made several additions to their team, adding veteran talent to boost a young and exciting core that is making excellent development process. However, injuries have taken already taken a toll on this team and will definitely play into Portland's favor. The Jazz will be without the services of small forward Gordon Hayward (hand) and guard Alec Burks (leg) tonight. Also out is power forward Derrick Favors who is out with an injured knee that kept him out for the last five preseason games.
Despite these injuries, Utah still has a solid defensive system that revolves around center Rudy Gobert. Without Hayward, Utah will most likely feature a combination of Rodney Hood and Joe Johnson on the wing. Boris Diaw will most likely take Favors’ place in the starting lineup, and regardless of his age he still is a solid passer and scorer out of the post. Unfortunately for Jazz fans, expect the full health and offensive power of the Trail Blazers to overwhelm the Jazz's defense which will allow Portland to come away with a win.
Los Angeles Clippers
Thursday, 27 October 2016 at 10:30 PM ET Home
The Clippers still believe that they should have come away with a first round series victory, if it weren't for a series of unfortunate injuries to Chris Paul and Blake Griffin which crippled the team into another early playoff exit. The team is now healthy and ready to roll once again, so expect a close battle between both teams, depending on how well the Blazers can contain the paint penetration of the Clippers, as well as the shooting of Chris Paul and J. J. Redick.
Denver Nuggets
Saturday, 29 October 2016 at 09:00 PM ET Away
While the Denver Nuggets are progressing forward in their rebuilding phase, they are still a year away from making noise in the Western Conference. Danilo Gallinari is a key cog in the Nuggets offense when healthy, and shot remarkably well in the preseason. Assuming the wing combination of Al-Farouq Aminu and Maurice "Mo" Harkless can contain him, and barring any unexpected defensive breakdowns in the high mountain air of Denver, it should be a relatively simple win for the Trail Blazers.
