In a surprising turn of events, Markelle Fultz returned to the court in a victory against the Denver Nuggets.

In January I accepted that Markelle Fultz wasn't going to return this season, and that it was going to take a whole off-season for him to get his much-debated Jumpshot back to what it was when he was considered the consensus number 1 pick at Washington.

Funny how things change quickly in life. About two hours before Monday night's game against the Denver Nuggets, Brett Brown dropped this on the awaiting media.

Fultz played about 15 minutes, in the 123-104 win over the Nuggets, which is right around the minutes Brown had in mind for him. His first stint at the end of at the end of the first quarter and part of the 2nd had mixed results with a missed jump shot, and a turnover, but he did have three assists.

When Fultz re-entered the game in the third quarter, what was a five-point lead jumped to 11 by the end of the quarter, and it featured more good reads and signs that he was willing to attack the basket.

But it was in garbage time where Fultz showed that he was gonna be just fine with a few pull-up jumpers from 15 feet.

In the end, Fultz finished with 10 points 8 assists and 4 rebounds with a +16.

The Jumper still has a way to go, but it is a far cry from what we saw in training camp. Regardless, you can tell he has a great feel for the game, which is one of the many reasons he was considered the top pick. He could definitely play some spot minutes at backup point guard especially with TJ McConnell secretly going through a mini-slump since dropping a triple-double against the Knicks.

Either way, with the Sixers making the playoffs on Sunday and getting their first overall pick back on Monday, it's been an eventful two days for the franchise.

Sidenotes

  • The Sixers have a legitimate shot at winning 50 games now that they have beaten 2 out the 4 remaining playoff contending teams left on their schedule. They play the Knicks, Hawks, Hornets, Nets, and Pistons before facing the Cavs. After that, the Mavs, Hawks and the Bucks are left on their schedule.
  • The Sixers have now crushed teams in its last four games. They have amounted a 20 point lead in each of the last four games. In three of those games, the deeper part of the bench started in the fourth quarter and gave the starters the rest of the game off.
  • The Sixers remain a game behind the Cavs for the third seed, but with the way Lebron has been playing, that one game feels like three.
