The Orlando Magic have to make a solid move before the deadline. They desperately need a point guard and a sharp shooter, so let's take a look at the latest Orlando Magic trade rumors.

Trade Deadline is upon us. With very little time left, the Orlando Magic need to rush to make a deal to fill their roster.

General Manager, Rob Hennigan told the Orlando Sentinel that the Magic had pinpointed their problem areas and what they are looking for in the current trade market.

“[We’d like] more shot-making and shooting and maybe feel-for-the-game type of qualities among our perimeter,” Hennigan said.

There are a few good players on the market that can fit this mold and some that the Magic can nurture into future stars and Championship winners.

Eric Bledsoe or Brandon Knight (Phoenix Suns) for Mario Hezonja, Elfrid Payton and a first round pick

Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight are fighting for minutes at their current franchise and while the Magic are desperate for a point guard starter to replace the reoccurring bad form of Elfrid Payton, one of these players could be a good pick.

Bledsoe is currently averaging the best of his career. His current stat line is 24.4 PPG, 4.9 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game in the month.
He is a sharp shooter and has impressive playmaking abilities.

The only potential problematic factor for Bledsoe is his injury history, which certainly affects his trade value, and the Magic can’t afford another disappointing point guard.

He'd be a good fit for the Magic if he doesn’t succumb to injury problems.

The case for Brandon Knight is somewhat stagnant. He’s a risky bet.

He struggled with left adductor strains and was fighting to maintain scoring efficiency. Knight shot just 39% from the field.

Aside from underperforming, Knight signed a sizable 5-year deal for USD $70 million. For a franchise looking to obtain Knight, that’s a rather off-putting prospect.

Knight’s salary this season plus next years $13.6 million, plus a further $14.6 million and then a final $15.6 on his last year would have to be paid out.

In the NBA’s current money market, that’s a high-end backup with a low-end starting PG money deal.

It’s enough to scare any team off, but this is a risk that could eventually pay dividends.

Reggie Jackson (Detroit Pistons) for D.J. Augustin and Jeff Green

This trade has been churning out the rumor will like no tomorrow. Reggie Jackson has been linked to the Magic for weeks.

Marc Stein of ESPN reported that the Magic and the Pistons have been in discussion over this potential trade.

Jackson is only 26 and is averaging very good numbers. Last season he managed 18.8 PPG, 6.2 assists, and 3.2 rebounds while shooting 43.4% from the field and 35.3% from the arc.

Obviously, a knee injury wrote Jackson out for a time in early October, but the point guard is still averaging 15.2 points, 5.6 assists, and 2.2 rebounds. He’s shooting 42.8% from the field and 36.3 from 3-point range.

Jackson is extremely athletic and shoots well from all over the half-court. He’d be an incredible investment to fill the void in the point-guard starting position.

Jahil Okafor (Philadelphia 76ers) for Mario Hezonja and future first round pick

Philadelphia made Jahil Okafor available for trade discussion and are actively trying to move him before deadline hits.

Okafor is 21 and suits all of Magic’s plans to acquire a young, future stars roster.

This season he’s averaging 11.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 23 minutes on the court. His rookie season saw him average 17.5 points, seven rebounds and 1.2 blocks per 30 minutes.

The Magic have a great history of developing young centers, Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard to name a few, and would do wonders with Okafor.

He’s a smart player, something that the Magic are apparently looking for and is brilliant in defense.

With a good point guard and a sharp shooter in the mix, Okafor could be seriously special for the Magic.

The Magic have a few holes to fill before they are even considered potential threats. If they play this deadline trade period smartly, they could come away with an incredible talent and who knows, maybe a future Ring.
