Oshkosh Lands D-League Team for Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks confirm that their new D-League team will be in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Most fans of the Milwaukee Bucks come from or have some tie to the state of Wisconsin.  With this in mind, most of you know where the city of Oshkosh is.  For the rest of you reading this that have no idea what Oshkosh is (besides a funny name), allow me to explain.

Oshkosh is a city in northeast Wisconsin, near Green Bay.  With a population of just under 67,000, it is the 8th biggest municipality in the state.  The most well-known tourist attraction is the EAA AirVenture Museum.  It also has the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.  I live in this state and am having trouble coming up with interesting things to say about it.

Thankfully, the Bucks have saved me from endlessly Google searching obscure facts about Oshkosh.  The team announced that there will be a D-League team in Oshkosh in a press conference Wednesday afternoon.  Fox Valley Basketball will begin play in the 2017-18 season.  The team will build an arena that is capable of holding 3,500 spectators.

While just a D-League team, Fox Valley Basketball should incite excitement in not just Bucks fans, but Wisconsin residents.  Since owners Wes Edens and Marc Lasry have taken over majority ownership, the Bucks have tried to become a brand loved statewide.  The recent re-brand of the team includes a logo with the state of Wisconsin as a primary focus.  The team reached and agreement and is making tremendous progress on a new arena in Milwaukee, showing a strong desire to remain in one of the NBA's smallest markets.  A D-League team in the city of Oshkosh really shows a commitment to the state.

No name has been determined for the team.  You can go onto their website http://www.nba.com/bucks/dleague to submit name ideas if you wish.
