Whether you're in the playoff mix already, or still fighting the last regular season matchup(s), streaming takes on a more extreme importance in these do or die situations. If it were earlier in the season, owners would want to hold onto guys like Mike Conley and Jae Crowder, who were recently diagnosed to miss several weeks. Now, as playoffs rear their head and dead weight can no longer be strategically viable, even those that don't stream may find themselves scouring the wire.

Shelvin Mack 16% ownership

Monday Thursday Saturday Sunday

Mack has dealt with game to game inconsistencies for his new team since the trade deadline, but one could hope his recent 27 point career-high performance could jump-start things. The only caution here is the return of Alec Burks (35% ownership), which should still be a couple weeks away and heavily monitored in all major news feeds. The Jazz offense generally doesn't allow for a lot of assists, but if you need a low-end scoring point guard he could have a couple more strong weeks.

D.J. Augustin 18% ownership

Monday Tuesday Thursday Saturday

Jameer Nelson opted out of season-ending surgery but hasn't seen the court in over a month. Augustin on the other hand is younger, and still a proven talent that was simply buried on the Thunder bench. It would be wise to keep expectations in check, but if he continues to score in double-digits and hand out dimes he could be a consistent low-end point guard behind Mudiay for the remainder of the fantasy season. While he has been a good three-point shooter for Denver, he is not a guard to rely on for steals.

Ray McCallum 12% ownership

Monday Wedneday Thursday Saturday

McCallum has never really proven himself a worthy fantasy option for any extended amount of time, and his 1 game for the Grizzlies didn't change that. However, he did hit 3 threes in his Memphis debut, and added 2 steals and 13 points on 50% shooting. Sacramento hasn't exactly been synonymous with developing their young guards, and he got next to no playing time in San Antonio so there is a chance, albeit a small one, that McCallum can actually put together some late-round value to finish the season.

Courtney Lee 27% ownership

Monday Wedneday Thursday Saturday

After putting up 43 points and 6 threes in the last 3 games while shooting 60% from the field, Courtney Lee is showing signs of returning to his more consistent, if not underwhelming form we are all familiar with from his Memphis days. He was usually around 1 steal per game, too, so one can hope his averages there will steadily rise.

Jusuf Nurkic 33% ownership

Monday Tuesday Thursday Saturday

We've all heard of his supposed upside, but whether it will happen this season, or at all, is starting to seriously come into question. Coach Malone is quoted to want to give him more playing time, and in 18 minutes on Saturday he turned in 17 points, 4 rebounds, a steal and 2 blocks. With so few big men on the wire at this time, he could be worth the risk if you have room for one.

Steven Adams 12% ownership

Monday Wednesday Friday Saturday

If you can do without the upside, or just plain got off the Nurkic hype-train a long time ago, then Steven Adams has had very consistent production in limited minutes for quite some time now. Just don't expect any surprises, but he is a solid add for those in need of a defensive big.

Norris Cole 27% ownership

Monday Wednesday Friday Saturday

One can only hope his back problems are behind him going forward, as he is easily one of the more explosive players that could be sitting on your wire. His points production goes up and down, as will his FG% with it. However, the assists are trending upwards as some of the best on the wire, the popcorn rebounds are always an added bonus, and he clearly has the green light on a dismantled Pelicans roster, when healthy.

Patrick Patterson 16% ownership

Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday Sunday

2Pat wouldn't be on this list were it not for the Raptors rare 5 game week. It's hard to recommend adding Terrence Ross (14% ownership) since he's returned to his usual inconsistencies, but Patterson has a nice string of games put together as a three-point specialist. He can trend up and down for a few weeks at a time, but his hot streak could easily be worth riding out should you need help with threes.

This week we only covered teams with at least 4 games, but if you're more liberal with your acquisitions, guys like Jerryd Bayless (31% ownership), Josh Richardson (7% ownership), Shabazz Muhammad (8% ownership) or even Michael Beasley (4% ownership) for upside in deeper leagues or points formats, could be good short term additions
