Fantasy Basketball Week 14 is here and with it comes MLK Day and afternoon basketball. This article examines the head-to-head league targets to win your matchup.

Hello, Week 14 begins with Martin Luther King Day, and that means afternoon basketball.  The first game tips off at 12:30 p.m. ET or just 30 minutes into your 9 to 5 on West Coast.  Be sure to set yourself a little early.  Do not forget to check out the fantastic Advanced Schedule Grid on Hashtag Basketball.  Without further ado, here is the information.

Weekly lock leagues

Tip of the week: 10 teams play four games this week.  Conversely, just two teams (Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns) have just two games on the schedule.  We are here to scout for four-game players, but the only two gamer I would consider this week is Devin Booker.  Booker can fill up the stat sheet making him difficult to bench especially for his scoring, but all the rest are hands off.

Note: 18 teams play three games this week, so do not be surprised to see more than a few of them in your starting grid.  It will be quite challenging to bench a top 50 option with three games, but be sure to check your waiver wire.

Top 10 potential pickups playing four games:  (All ownership percentages based on ESPN leagues and under 40 percent owned was the cut-off for available on the waiver wire)

  1. Joe Ingles (30.8%)- Should be added in all leagues because he is a steady contributor in four categories.
  2. Courtney Lee- New York Knicks (38.8%)- Should produce positive contributions in every category, but blocks. Should be owned in a lot more leagues too.
  3. Caris LeVert- Brooklyn Nets (31.4%)- Good across the board production. Steals, assists, rebounds, and points provide an excellent base for the week.
  4. Ish Smith- Detroit Pistons (24.5%)- Smith should safely average double-digit points with at least four assists and around one steal per game for the week. Sign me up.
  5. Jarrett Jack- New York Knicks (15.4%)- Averaging 6.1 assists per game or enough to swing that category in four games. Plus, 3.6 rebounds is good for a point guard.
  6. Tyler Johnson- Miami Heat (20.9%)- Probably the top points scorer for the week on your waiver wire
  7. Kelly Olynyk- Miami Heat (30.5%)
  8. DeMarre Carroll- Brooklyn Nets (30.8%)- Threes, rebounds, and points for the combo forward.
  9. Larry Nance Jr- Los Angeles Lakers (16.3%)- rebounds and steals streamer
  10. Kyle O’Quinn- New York Knicks (8.5%)- six rebounds, two assists, and a blocked shot per game make him a worthy weekly target

Daily roster changes

First, a word on the schedule itself: Monday and Wednesday both have double-digit games.  Monday’s 11 games make streaming difficult, and Wednesday with ten contest is likely out as well.  I will just eliminate Monday for your back-to-backs look.

NOTE: The top schedules this week regarding quality games are the Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, and Portland Trail Blazers all have three games on light schedule days.

Back-to-backs

Tuesday-Wednesday

Denver Nuggets

Wilson Chandler (28.4%)- 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game for the season.  It has been a disappointing year for Chandler who is usually an underrated fantasy contributor.

Mason Plumlee (11.9%)- Not a ton of minutes, but still over a block per game with almost six rebounds and two assists makes him a worthy option.

New Orleans Pelicans

E’Twaun Moore (18.0%)- 13.0 points, 2.2 assists, and 1.7 3-pointers bring Moore into the streamer discussion.

Tuesday-Thursday pseudo

Boston Celtics

Marcus Smart (36.3%)- Smart produces enough assists, rebounds, and steals to be owned, but the percentages actively hurt you.

Terry Rozier (15.3%)- one steal per game with over four rebounds and two assists.

Marcus Morris (10.4%)- Likely misses one game of the set.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Tyus Jones (3.0%)- Teague is back, but Jones is still averaging 1.3 steals per game in 18.9 minutes, so add him for the swipes.

Orlando Magic

Bismack Biyombo (26.2%)- Stop right now and check to see if he is owned in your league.  Should be 100% owned while Vucevic is out.

Jonathon Simmons (24.2%)- Points target (14.0 per game).

Mario Hezonja (3.0%)- Playing more with Vucevic out and is averaging over double-digit points with two assists and 5.3 rebounds in his last six games.

Portland Trail Blazers

Al-Farouq Aminu (16.7%)- Aminu slides under the radar because he does not stand out in any category, but the total production is worthy of owning.

Shabazz Napier (11.1%)- If Lillard misses a game, Napier is worth owning in any league.

Evan Turner (8.0%)- Always a homerun stream, but usually ends up with a bunt production.

Wednesday-Thursday

No teams scheduled.

Thursday-Friday

Indiana Pacers

Bojan Bogdanovic (21.9%)- points and threes streamer.

Lance Stephenson (12.8%)- Stephenson is still a quality rebounder who can chip in three assists per game.

Cory Joseph (2.4%)- Averaging 3.1 assists and 0.9 steals per game on the season making him a deeper league target.

Friday-Saturday

Memphis Grizzlies

JaMychal Green (7.3%)- double-digit points with 6.7 rebounds per game.

Mario Chalmers (0.9%)- Averaging 3.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game or another deeper league addition.

Miami Heat

Kelly Olynyk (30.5%)- Olynyk’s production makes wild swings, but he should be good for a steal per game, double-digit points, a fistful of rebounds and two assists per game.

Tyler Johnson (20.9%)- Johnson is playing a more significant offensive role with Dion Waiters out, and it is showing up in the box score.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see him average 14 points per game for the rest of the season.

Wayne Ellington (10.8%)- If you need 3-pointers, there is no better streamer than Ellington.

Justise Winslow (4.7%)- Winslow returned on Sunday if you are looking for a shot in the dark.

Bam Adebayo (3.6%)- Interesting skillset when the minutes fall into his lap.

Toronto Raptors

Delon Wright (11.1%)- Defensive stats are solid in 21 minutes a night, and if Lowry remains out, Wright would be a top add.

C.J. Miles (3.3%)- 3-pointers made streamer

Fred VanVleet (1.2%)- More minutes with Lowry is out is putting him on the radar too.  Monitor the All-Star’s status heading into this back-to-back set.

Utah Jazz

Joe Ingles (30.8%)- Threes, rebounds, assists, and steals sounds like a fantastic combo to me.

Rodney Hood (27.3%)- Points and threes target.

Ekpe Udoh (0.5%)- Should produce a block per game and can be had in almost any league.

Saturday-Sunday

No teams scheduled.

Looking ahead to Week 15

Perhaps, you have an extra pickup heading into Sunday’s games and would like to take advantage of both that and the beginning of next week.  Here is usually the place for you, but the schedule is not allowing it in Week 15.  The Sacramento Kings do kickoff the week with a Monday-Tuesday back-to-back if that helps.

Final thoughts
