We return to something closer to a normal schedule this week, there will be games played on every day with Tuesday and Sunday being quality days and Monday, Wednesday and Friday featuring at least ten games. We are without back-to-back sets for Tuesday and Wednesday as well as Saturday and Sunday. That, plus the lack of games makes the FA pool look pretty underwhelming for the weekend.
James Johnson 22% ownership
In seven games since returning from a three-game absence, He is averaging 12.7 points and 1.1 threes on 56% shooting. Add in 6.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists and the only thing missing is his usual defensive stats. Hopefully those come along again, but otherwise, he is a hot pickup right now and Miami has few other options with him playing so well. Miami plays four games this week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.
Montrezl Harrel 19% ownership
He has emerged as the primary beneficiary to Capela's injury, and should maintain this value for another three weeks or so. We know he can score with 33 points in his last two games, but the blocks and high-volume rebounding are anything but steady and he is a poor free-throw shooter.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson 6.1% ESPN, 50% Y! ownership
He is finally stringing together some solid performances, and those still interested in the young prospect might want to pounce on him now. He is typically a high-efficiency guy good for racking up steals, some rebounds and points and the occasional three. As a young player, his ceiling can be higher, but its best to keep your expectations in check and treat him as a hot streamer for now.
Raymond Felton 5% ownership
There is something to be said about Mo Speights (23%) and Austin Rivers (8%) with the team so banged up right now, but Felton is a capable and fairly proven fill-in for the Clippers. His efficiency can be streaky, but he can do a little bit of everything, evident on his Christmas Day performance when he tallied 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks and 8 points. The Clippers play four games this week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Ty Lawson 19% ownership
Lawson is finally showing some signs of life due to starter Darren Collison's recent slump. It's hard to trust this once shining fantasy asset, but he has been great in his last four games and warrants an add for anyone in need of a PG. The Kings play three games this week on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
On a related note, Robert Covington is only 27% owned in ESPN leagues (66% Y! ownership) and has scored in double-digits for his last six games. He's worth adding while he stays hot for most any team, and if you're punting FG% now is the time to pick him up, he could be a hold in standards. Finally, if you're looking for specialists this week, I suggest you take a look at TJ McConnell (4%) for assists, Channing Frye (12%) for threes. and Andre Roberson (13%) for a fairly consistent trickle of steals and blocks.
