Fantasy basketball managers should be maximizing their games in head-to-head leagues with an eye on the NBA's trade deadline this week. Find out more here.
The NBA trade deadline happens on March 25, which often means a shakeup in the fantasy basketball landscape. Every deal shifts rotations and could create new opportunities on all the teams involved. Be sure to watch closely for news leading up to Thursday’s deadline and how it could impact the rotations involved.
Fantasy managers are treated to a few fewer games this week, but plenty of streaming opportunities. Here is a look at the slate.
Teams that play four times (18)
Hawks, Celtics, Hornets, Cavaliers, Nuggets, Rockets, Clippers, Lakers, Grizzlies, Bucks, Timberwolves, Magic, Suns, Blazers, Kings, Spurs, Raptors, Jazz
Teams that play three times (12)
Nets, Bulls, Mavericks, Pistons, Warriors, Pacers, Heat, Pelicans, Knicks, Thunder, 76ers, Wizards
Fantasy basketball talking points
- LeBron James suffered a high ankle sprain in Saturday’s game that is likely to cost him at least this week. The Lakers will be hurting with both of their stars out. Now is the time to grab Talen Horton-Tucker, though. The 20-year-old should get plenty of opportunities to shine with AD and LeBron sidelined.
- The Hawks and Bucks are surging, while no team is struggling more than the Rockets. Be sure to check the stats over the last two weeks to see which players are getting more opportunities. Joe Ingles and Kelly Olynyk are top 50 players over the last two weeks and available on waiver wires.
- If trades happen this week, players will miss a few days getting to their new markets. Be on your toes in daily lock leagues for that.
- The Spurs have the best schedule of the week. They play four times with three on light schedule days. San Antonio has four home games with two coming against the Hornets and Bulls.
- The Nets have the worst schedule of the week with three games including two on the highest volume days. Brooklyn has three road games including having to go to Utah and Portland in a back-to-back.
Top streaming options for Week 12 (rostered in under 50% of Yahoo Leagues)
Dillon Brooks, Memphis Grizzlies (48%), SG/SF
Brooks averages 15.6 points, 1.9 3-pointers made, and 1.3 steals per game on the season. His percentages are a worry, but the Grizzlies wing can help fantasy managers win three categories in every matchup.
