Fantasy basketball deep league suggestions for games between the 9th of January and 15th of January.

Welcome to another edition of Deep League Relevant. This week we’re going to take a look at the waiver wire for some players owned in 9% or less of Yahoo leagues.

Donatas Motiejunas (New Orleans Pelicans, SF/PF)

Owned in 9% of Yahoo leagues.
3 games scheduled between Monday 9th January and Sunday 15th December.

Why is Donatas worth adding?
Donatas played 20 minutes on debut and tallied 11 PTS, 5 REB and 4 AST. If you’ve got a streaming spot open, or somebody you’re wanting to drop it’s worth adding him in a 14 team league to see how the situation plays out. There’s little competition for the C spot in New Orleans, so the only concern is his health, and the potential minute split with Jones, that we also saw when they played together in Houston.

Patrick Patterson (Toronto Raptors, PF/C)

Owned in 8% of Yahoo leagues.
3 games scheduled between Monday 9th January and Sunday 15th December.

Why is Patrick worth adding?
Patrick returned yesterday and tallied 8 PTS, 7 REB and 2 3PM in 22 minutes (while still on a minutes restriction). Of all the C eligible players, he’s ranked 7th in 3PM, so if you’re in a punt-BLK build he’s a nice player to target.

Andre Roberson (Oklahoma City Thunder, SG/SF)

Owned in 8% of Yahoo leagues.
4 games scheduled between Monday 9th January and Sunday 15th December.

Why is Andre worth adding?
Roberson could be the most underrated player in fantasy basketball. He’s only .2 of a 3PM away from averaging 1 STL, 1 BLK and 1 3PM for the entire season (something only 4 players are currently averaging: Durant, Cousins, Draymond Green and Marc Gasol), and is somebody who should really be owned in more than 8% of Yahoo leagues.

Garrett Temple (Sacramento Kings, PG/SG)

Owned in 5% of Yahoo leagues.
3 games scheduled between Monday 9th January and Sunday 15th December.

Why is Garrett worth adding?
Temple’s numbers aren’t going to blow you out of the water, but he has averaged just under 32 minutes a game over the past 2 weeks, and has shown signs of being deep league relevant over the past week, where he has averaged 10.5 PTS, 4 REB, 2.8 AST and 1.5 STL. The Afflalo acquisition hasn’t really gone to plan, and it looks like Temple has the starting SG spot locked in (at least for the next few weeks).

Jeremy Lamb (Charlotte Hornets, SG/SF)

Owned in 5% of Yahoo leagues.
2 games scheduled between Monday 9th January and Sunday 15th December.

Why is Jeremy worth adding?
With Batum injured and Belinelli returning from injury it presents the opportunity for Lamb to produce. Given Charlotte only play twice this week I’d only recommend adding him as a streaming option, with the Friday game against Philly looking tempting.

Nem, Joe and Danny review week 11 of the fantasy basketball season and preview week 12 by giving their not always relevant players of the week, discuss the fallout of the Kyle Korver trade, and who benefits the most. They also discuss who will step up in the absence of Batum and Winslow, whether they're buying the hype of players like Reed, Motiejunas, Hardaway Jr, Brogdon, and McDermott and make some deep league add suggestions. They also go through the week 12 schedule.
