As the playoff approach, here is a look at maximizing your games played in head-to-head fantasy basketball leagues.
Fantasy basketball managers in head-to-head leagues can see the playoffs on the horizon. They need to make shrewd moves to qualify and put themselves in a position to bring home the title. One way is maximizing their games played each week.
Today, we look at the schedule to do just that. If you have inquiries, check out the Advanced Schedule Grid.
Weekly lock leagues
Tips for the week: Only nine teams play four times in Week 15. The Pacers, Timberwolves, and Magic each have two games. The remaining 19 organizations have three tilts.
Using any player with two games not named Karl Anthony-Towns or Nikola Vucevic is difficult. Try to find someone playing four times to fill in. It is a fantastic way to maximize your counting stats.
Here is a look at the top 10 streaming options that play four times and are rostered in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo Leagues.
- Kris Dunn, Chicago Bulls, PG/SG (35%): Dunn is averaging 2.0 steals per game for the season in 25.2 minutes per game. He has played 30-plus in three of his last four, though. The Bulls appear committed to giving him more minutes making him a solid contributor in rebounds and assists as well.
- P.J. Tucker, Houston Rockets, SF/PF (44%): Tucker is averaging 7.1 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 1.5 3-pointers made per game on strong percentages this season. He is not a scorer but helps in other areas.
- Darius Garland, Cleveland Cavaliers, PG (39%): Garland is turning it on, but few are noticing. Since the calendar flipped to 2020, he is averaging 15.1 points, 5.6 assists, 2.2 3-pointers made, and 0.9 steals per over the 12 games.
- Thaddeus Young, Chicago Bulls, SF/PF (49%): Lauri Markkanen is out for four to six weeks, so Young should see around 30 minutes per game. In that playing time, expect him to produce 12 points, six rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. That makes him one of the top streaming options on the waiver wire.
- Eric Gordon, Houston Rockets, SG/SF (47%): Gordon is averaging 3.2 3-pointers made and 14.5 points this season.
- Tim Hardaway Jr, Dallas Mavericks, SG/SF (45%): THJ is averaging 14.3 points and 2.7 3-pointers on the season. Expect a strong week from him as Dallas has the Rockets, Hawks, and Suns on the docket plus a Monday game against the Thunder.
- Delon Wright, Dallas Mavericks, PG/SG (42%): Wright makes an impact in rebounds, assists, and steals. He is not playing as many minutes as fantasy managers hoped, but he is still contributing.
- Gary Harris, Denver Nuggets, SG/SF (49%): Harris is a points, threes, and steals streamer. He is ramping up off an injury, so managers should be cautious this week.
- Seth Curry, Dallas Mavericks, PG/SG (13%)- Curry has started the last two games after the Dwight Powell injury. His point and 3-point production will increase playing next to Luka Doncic. Curry also has the upside to average over one steal per game.
- Bruce Brown, Detroit Pistons, SG (8%)- Brown is averaging 4.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game on the season.
