Fantasy Basketball Week 12 Schedule Preview

Fantasy basketball Week 12 has arrived and with it comes a packed slate. Here is a look at how to maximize your games played in head-to-head leagues in this matchup.

The calendar has officially flipped to 2020. That means the fantasy basketball season is heating up. Now it the time to make trades to solidify your roster for the stretch run. Strengthen your team could be the difference between winning your championship and missing the playoffs.

Weekly lock leagues

Tips for the week: There are 15 teams (Hawks, Celtics, Nets, Hornets, Bulls, Mavericks, Nuggets, Warriors, Bucks, Pelicans, Knicks, Thunder, Spurs, Jazz and Wizards) that play four games in Week 12. The LA Clippers are the lone team playing just twice. The remaining 14 organizations have three contests.

Maximizing games played becomes important with the greater volume in Week 12. Consider replacing players playing two or three with four-game options.

Here is a look at the top ten streaming options that play four times and are owned in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo Leagues.

  1. Taurean Prince, Brooklyn Nets, SF/PF, (48%): Prince is averaging 12.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.4 3-pointers made, and 0.9 steals per game on the season. That places him inside the top 130 making him a player that should be owned in 12-team leagues.
  2. Kris Dunn, Chicago Bulls, PG/SG/SF, (28%): Dunn is averaging 3.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.1 steals per game on the season. His elite swipes make him a player that should be rostered in all leagues this week.
  3. Josh Hart, New Orleans Pelicans, SG/SF, (27%): Hart is averaging 10.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.2 3-pointers made and 1.0 steal per game on the season. He is an across the board contributor that helps any fantasy lineup.
  4. Nerlens Noel, Oklahoma City Thunder, PF/C (48%): Noel produces steals and blocks in bunches. He is averaging 1.1 steals and 1.5 blocks per game on the season plus 5.1 rebounds with sturdy percentages.
  5. Kevin Huerter, Atlanta Hawks, SG, (45%): Over the last seven games, Huerter is averaging 13.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.4 steals, 2.1 3-pointers made, and 0.6 blocks in 31.6 minutes per game. It has been a roller coaster ride early in his career, but 21-year-old produces when given the playing time.
  6. Elfrid Payton, New York Knicks, PG, (28%): Payton is a rebounds (3.8), assists (6.1), and steals (1.5) add. He makes fantasy teams significantly better in all three categories.
  7. Isaiah Thomas, Washington Wizards, PG (36%): Thomas is averaging 13.5 points, 4.6 assists, and 2.1 3-pointers made per game on the year.
  8. Glenn Robinson III, Golden State Warriors, SG/SF, (30%): Robinson is averaging 12.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.3 3-pointers, and 0.9 steals in 32.1 minutes per game this season. He produces steady percentages and should have more opportunities given the Warriors’ injuries.
  9. Jordan Clarkson, Utah Jazz, PG/SG, (31%): Clarkson continues to produce well in points and threes despite being traded to the Jazz.
  10. Eric Paschall, Golden State Warriors, SF/PF (26%): The rookie is a points and rebounds streamer that provides steady percentages. He is getting an increased opportunity with both Willie Cauley-Stein and Kevon Looney sidelined.

Daily roster changes

First, a word on the schedule itself: Week 12 features just one day (Friday) with double-digit games. Both Monday and Wednesday have nine which is borderline for streaming purposes. The rest should be smooth sailing.

Taurean Prince (48%): Points, threes, rebounds, and steals stream.

Sacramento Kings

Cory Joseph (2%): Deeper league assists add.

Oklahoma City Thunder

Nerlens Noel (48%): Blocks, steals, and rebounds target.


New York Knicks

Elfrid Payton (28%): Assists, rebounds, and steals add.

Frank Ntilikina (3%): Steals streamer.

Toronto Raptors

Chris Boucher (17%): Rebounds and blocks target while Pascal Siakam and Marc Gasol are out.


Boston Celtics

Daniel Theis (8%): Rebounds and blocks streamer.

Houston Rockets

Eric Gordon (44%): Points and threes add.

Danuel House (25%): Points, threes, and steals target.

Thursday-Saturday pseudo

Boston Celtics

Listed under Wednesday-Thursday.

Oklahoma City Thunder

Listed under Monday-Tuesday.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Darius Garland (22%): Points and 3-pointers made streamer.

Cedi Osman (21%): Threes and steals add.

Detroit Pistons

Bruce Brown (9%): Rebounds, assists, and steals target.

Houston Rockets

Listed under Wednesday-Thursday.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Gorgui Dieng (41%): Dieng is must-own if Karl-Anthony Towns remains out. He produces well in points, rebounds, blocks, and threes when given significant minutes.

Philadelphia 76ers

No recommended streamers.

Portland Trail Blazers

Kent Bazemore (25%): Steals, blocks, and threes target.


Denver Nuggets

Mason Plumlee (6%): Deeper league rebounds and blocks add.

Looking ahead to Week 13

Fantasy managers may be looking to use that final pick up on a player that can help both on Sunday of Week 12 and Monday of Week 13. Basically, helping on both ends of their matchups. Here is a look at the available players.

Nic Batum (27%): Rebounds and assists streamer.
