The real fun and games are only a few weeks away for most of us. If you’re lucky enough to have already clinched a playoff spot, congratulations! If you haven’t, here’s a list of players owned in 6% or less of Yahoo leagues who will help get you there.
Darrell Arthur (Denver Nuggets, PF/C)
Owned in 6% of Yahoo leagues.
4 games scheduled between Monday 29th February and Sunday 6th March.
Why is Darrell worth adding?
Arthur is set to be benefit the most from the Gallinari injury (who could be a shut-down candidate, given he’s not due back for another 3-4 weeks and it’s in Denver’s long-term interest to collect a few more losses). He’s a nice source of out of position 3PM and STL and is also capable of getting some PTS and REB. If you need somebody to help boost your numbers then take a look at Arthur.
D.J. Augustin (Denver Nuggets, PG)
Owned in 5% of Yahoo leagues.
4 games scheduled between Monday 29th February and Sunday 6th March.
Why is D.J. worth adding?
DJ was on last week’s list and he’s surprisingly still available in 95% of Yahoo leagues. He put up averages of 11 PTS, 3 AST and 1.7 3PM in 25 minutes over the past 7 days, and with Gallinari injured you can expect him to get a few extra minutes to help shoulder the work load.
Ronnie Price (Phoenix Suns, PG/SG)
Owned in 6% of Yahoo leagues.
4 games scheduled between Monday 29th February and Sunday 6th March.
Why is Ronnie worth adding?
Ronnie is the only fit (traditional) PG on the roster (Archie is more of a combo guard), which explains why he’s Phoenix’s current starting PG until Knight returns (if he ever does). Over the past 7 days he has put up top 80 value to the tune of 13.3 PTS, 3 AST, 2 STL and 2.3 3PM. So long as he’s getting near 30 minutes of playing time a game, he’s worth adding.
Vince Carter (Memphis Grizzlies, SG/SF)
Owned in 3% of Yahoo leagues.
4 games scheduled between Monday 29th February and Sunday 6th March.
Why is Vince worth adding?
No, it’s not 2006 and yes, Carter belongs on this list (for now). Given the turn-around in the Grizzlies roster and their lack of wings (and lack of Tony Allen) it has presented the opportunity for Vince Carter to play a bigger role. Over the past 7 days he has averaged 21 minutes of playing time, 11 PTS, 2.3 3PM and 1 STL. If you need a boost in 3PM then Vince could very well be your best available option.
Other players to consider
Mike Dunleavy (Chicago Bulls, SG/SF, owned in 4% of Yahoo leagues), P.J. Hairston (Memphis Grizzlies, SG/SF, owned in 2% of Yahoo leagues), JaMychal Green(Memphis Grizzlies, PF, owned in 3% of Yahoo leagues), Reggie Bullock (Detroit Pistons, SG/SF, owned in 0% of Yahoo leagues).
