It was a disappointing trade deadline, with most teams opting to keep their rosters in-tact for the increased salary cap this off-season.

It was a disappointing trade deadline, with most teams opting to keep their rosters in-tact for the increased salary cap this off-season. Thankfully some teams participated, giving us deep leaguers a chance to add some pieces before the real fun starts (fantasy H2H playoffs).

Here’s a list of players owned in 5% of less of Yahoo leagues that may gather your interest.

Shelvin Mack (Utah Jazz, PG)

Owned in 5% of Yahoo leagues.
3 games scheduled between Monday 22nd February and Sunday 28th February.

Why is Shelvin worth adding?
When you just get traded to a team where their starting PG is averaging 6.2 PTS and 2.5 AST for the season (aka the ideal 2k My Career scenario), you know there’s an opportunity to take the starting spot (or at the very least, get some big minutes). In Mack’s first game for Utah he put up an impressive 16 PTS, 6 AST and 3 REB on 7/11 shooting in 24.5 minutes, while Neto played 10 and Trey Burke played 21. Shelvin is worth an add to see how the situation plays out.

D.J. Augustin (Denver Nuggets, PG)

Owned in 2% of Yahoo leagues.
3 games scheduled between Monday 22nd February and Sunday 28th February.

Why is D.J. worth adding?
Augustin has been sitting on OKC’s bench for the majority of the season and has found himself in a low pressure situation in Denver. If Nelson is shut down for the season (very likely) in means the back-up PG spot is his. We all know what kind of numbers he can produce when given the minutes (10.6 PTS, 4.9 AST in 23.5 minutes last season in Detroit) and he’s off to a promising start, averaging 24.5 minutes in his first 2 games in a Denver uniform.

Lance Stephenson (Memphis Grizzlies, SG/SF)

Owned in 5% of Yahoo leagues.
3 games scheduled between Monday 22nd February and Sunday 28th February.

Why is Lance worth adding?
Lance is a wildcard. He could crash and burn or he could get you some nice counting stats, and he’ll do it inconsistently, but I’m banking on Vince Carter’s body not being able to continue playing 30+ minutes a game and Lance finding himself a nice little 20 minute role in Memphis. The one thing that concerns me is his lack of 3 point shot, which is a worry considering he’s not the only one with that problem in Memphis, but this can be covered by moving ZBO to C and giving JaMychal Green minutes at PF.

JaMychal Green (Memphis Grizzlies, PF)

Owned in 3% of Yahoo leagues.
3 games scheduled between Monday 22nd February and Sunday 28th February.

Why is JaMychal worth adding?
Memphis traded away Jeff Green, who was pencilled in to play big minutes at PF and didn’t add one to their roster. If they continue to play ZBO at C then this opens up minutes at PF for JaMychal, who put up an impressive 9 PTS, 11 REB, 3 STL and 3 BLK line in his first post-trade deadline start.
