Deep League Relevant: 18th Jan - 24th Jan

Trying to guess which players are going to get minutes in Denver is like winning the lottery, but given my and Mike Malone's surnames are separated by only 1 letter I suppose I'm as good as anybody to try and take a guess.

Trying to guess which players are going to get minutes in Denver is like winning the lottery, but given my and Mike Malone's surnames are separated by only 1 letter I suppose I'm as good as anybody to try and take a guess.

We widen the net a little bit this week and take a look through the waiver wire to find players who are relevant in deep leagues this week and are owned in 13% or less of Yahoo leagues.

Gary Harris (SG) / Nikola Jokic (C) / Darrell Arthur (PF/C), Denver Nuggets

Harris (Owned in 8%), Jokic (Owned in 13%) & Arthur (Owned n 10%) of Yahoo leagues.
3 games scheduled between Monday 18th January and Sunday 24th January.

Why is Gary, Nokola and Darrell worth adding?
Trying to guess which players are going to get minutes in Denver is like winning the lottery, but given my and Mike Malone's surnames are separated by only 1 letter I suppose I'm as good as anybody to try and take a guess.

Nurkic out means there's some extra minutes at C and Jokic looks good for at least half of those, even when Nurkic returns. His last outing saw him put up 18 PTS with 4 STL and 1 3PM, which helped boost up his past 7 day average of 11 PTS, 5 REB, 3.3 AST, 2.3 STL on 54% FG and 85% FT).

Arthur averaged 26 minutes over the past 7 days, albeit mostly because he shot the ball at 61% from the field in that time span. He won't stay that hot, so if I had to choose between the 3 I'd lean towards Jokic.

Gary Harris continues to go unnoticed in deep leagues. Over the past 7 days he has put up averages of 16.7 PTS, 4 REB, 1 3PM on 47% FG and 100% from the FT line. If you want a steady performer Gary is a good option for somebody who is only owned in 8% of Yahoo leagues.

Cory Joseph (PG) / Terrence Ross (SG/SF), Toronto Raptors

Joseph (Owned in 5%) & Ross (Owned in 11%) of Yahoo leagues.
4 games scheduled between Monday 18th January and Sunday 24th January.

Why are Cory and Terrence worth adding?
Toronto is back from their 1 game week holiday and is still in need of a replacement for now often injured DeMarre Carroll. While it's James Johnson who's getting the start, he's not the player I want on my fantasy roster. Both Cory Joseph and Terrence Ross went on nice stretches when DeMarre was injured last time and look set to become deep league relevant again. If you need a boost in PTS, AST and STL then Joseph is your guy, if you need a boost in 3PM then take a look at Ross.

Brandon Bass (Los Angeles Lakers, PF/C)

Owned in 3% of Yahoo leagues.
3 games scheduled between Monday 18th January and Sunday 24th January.

Why is Brandon worth adding?
Bass returned from his ankle injury earlier than expected on Sunday to fill in some minutes for Nance Jr. He had a nice stretch of games prior to the injury and if Nance Jr is set to miss any more time Bass is worth an add, especially given Randle is carrying a foot injury himself.

Trey Lyles (Utah Jazz, PF)

Owned in 8% of Yahoo leagues.
4 games scheduled between Monday 18th January and Sunday 24th January.

Why is Trey worth adding?
Trey is playable based on when Favors returns, but there's no denying a player who has just put up averages of 17 PTS, 4.7 REB, 1.7 3PM and 67% FG for the week. Trey might still be worth a play on the day Favors returns to see just how easy Utah plan to ease him back into the rotation, but I'm afraid with a healthy Gobert and Favors there won't be enough minutes for Trey to even be deep league relevant.
