The Dallas Wings had two games this week, one of which was on the road against the New York Liberty and a home game against one of the early top teams in the Seattle Storm. GAME #5 - DALLAS WINGS AT NEW YORK LIBERTY - MAY 29TH

FINAL SCORE: NY 94, DAL 89

  • The Dallas Wings were red hot early and quickly were up by a score of 22-6 midway through the first.
  • Skylar Diggins-Smith had 12 first-quarter points and Dallas as a team shot 7/12 from the three-point line.
  • Dallas led by 17 after the first quarter.
  • It was BY FAR the best quarter Dallas had played in up to that point.
  • Tempers flared in the second quarter and the Liberty players picked up technical fouls
  • Dallas led by nine (46-37) at half
  • The Wings maintained their lead in the third and led by nine going into the fourth.
  • The Wings led 71-59 early in the fourth before the wheels started to fall off for Dallas.
  • NY had an 18-6 run in the early part of the fourth and they picked up their pressure defense.
  • The Wings were tied at 86 all when Shavonte Zellous hit the go-ahead three with 32 seconds left in the game.

FINAL SCORE: DAL 94, SEA 90

  • Dallas's defense was on display early and they led 15-7 midway through the first.
  • Dallas shot 79% in the first quarter and were up by 14 heading into the second quarter.
  • Another great start for Skylar Diggins-Smith as she had 14 first-quarter points.
  • Dallas opened up their lead in the second and were up by 25 at one point.
  • Dallas led 53-36 at the half. They shot 69% in the half.
  • Skylar Diggins-Smith had 20 first-half points.
  • Dallas saw it's lead cut down significantly thanks in large part due to Seattle's defense, especially that of Breanna Stewart and Natasha Howard.
  • DAL led 62-55 entering the fourth quarter.
  • Seattle cut Dallas's lead to just two points midway through the fourth.
  • Liz Cambage came up big for the Wings as she scored 18 points in the final quarter.
  • It went back and forth between the two teams and Seattle's Breanna Stewart made it a two-point game (88-86) with about 18 seconds left.
