The Celtics have started out a paltry 3-3 through six games. This week, their schedule is much lighter, and the team should get back Al Horford, Kelly Olynyk, and possibly Jae Crowder this week. With three days in between the Denver and Washington games, the Celtics will have some ample time to work on areas they have struggled in thus far. They will close the week out with a tough back to back against the Knicks and Pacers.

Washington Wizards

Boston gets their first look at the Wizards in the first of four times that they'll face off this season. The Celtics will need their guards to be playing their best defense as they go up against the backcourt of John Wall (22 PPG, 10 APG) and Bradley Beal (17 PPG).

On Sunday, the Celtics were torched by the Nuggets offense, giving up 123 points in their 16 point loss. The team needs to refocus themselves on the defensive end. Boston currently has one of the worst defense in the league (29th according to ESPN).

With a few days off to rest and recover from this injury bug that has hit the Celtics early in the season, I expect the C's to pull this one out by double digits.

New York Knicks

Friday, 11 November 2016 at 07:30 PM ET Home

The Celtics take on the Knicks in the first game of a big back to back. It would be a big plus to have Jae Crowder back for this game so he can take on Carmelo Anthony. The battle on the boards should be interesting, as both the Celtics (28th) and Knicks (29th) are two of the worst rebounding teams in the league.

If Boston can control the boards, I expect them to win this game. The perimeter defense of Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart should be enough to disrupt Derrick Rose and Courtney Lee. A big offensive game out of Isaiah Thomas pulls this one in the C's direction.

One of the biggest matchups to watch will be Al Horford and Amir Johnson against Kristaps Porzingis and Joakim Noah. Those four will have an impact on who wins the rebounding battle.

Indiana Pacers

Saturday, 12 November 2016 at 07:00 PM ET Away

In a grueling back to back, the Celtics tip off against the Pacers. This is Boston's first look at the additions the Pacers made this offseason (Jeff Teague, Thaddeus Young, Al Jefferson) and it also is their first game against one of the NBA's best, Paul George.

George, Myles Turner and the Pacers present a matchup problem for the C's, and they showed that by beating Boston in the season series 3-1 last year. It is crucial to keep bodies on the Indiana big men, or they will dominate on the boards.

Defensively, Boston needs to put their best defender on Paul George and make him work for every bucket all night.
