Hawks add Humphries, Delaney, and Jack via Free Agency

The Hawks have recently signed three free agents.

Over the past week the Hawks have made a handful of free agent signings.

Returning on a one year deal is big-man Kris Humphries. He joined the Hawks late last season after being bought out by the Phoenix Suns. He instantly became one of the Hawks best rebounders. His returning deal is worth 4 million.

Also joining on a one year deal is veteran point guard Jarrett Jack. His deal will be worth the veteran's minimum. Jack is recovering from a torn ACL and may not be available to start the season. He's played 11 seasons in the NBA and is well known in Atlanta for helping lead Georgia Tech to the NCAA Finals in 2004.

The Hawks will rely on their third free agent signing, Malcolm Delaney, for back-up point guard duty until Jack is healthy. Delaney is a little known player from Virginia Tech who went undrafted in 2011. After achieving varying levels of success playing for different clubs overseas, he garnered interest from a few NBA teams this offseason. The Hawks believe he's ready to contribute at the NBA level right away.

In a corresponding move, the Hawks have waived third year guard/foward Lamar Patterson. If Patterson clears waivers by 5pm Thursday then can continue playing for the Hawks' summer league team. It is unknown if there is much interest in him around the league.

In other summer league news, Taurean Prince has finally played his first game. He played on Monday after the snags in his trade to the Hawks were solved. He finished with 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 4 steals in 23 minutes of action. Fellow 2016 Hawks draftees DeAndre' Bembry and Isaia Cordinier have also drawn rave reviews at the Las Vegas Summer League.

The biggest free agent signing is yet to come. The Hawks are expected to announce the major signing of Dwight Howard in a press conference Wednesday morning. The Kent Bazemore re-signing will also be addressed.
