With the WNBA season now over, it's time to look forward to the offseason where teams evaluate themselves in order to have a better season in 2019.
The Atlanta Dream have had an eventful 2018 WNBA season, in which they reached a new franchise record in terms of wins, and new head coach Nicki Collen was named COY. She was so successful that the Atlanta Dream recently announced they had picked up the third-year option on her contract.

Well, first of all, it won't be too long. It was announced during the season that the Dream gave a contract extension to Tiffany Hayes, who was named to the All WNBA First Team. This is great news for the Dream as they locked in one of their star players. As for the rest? Well, according to High Post Hoops salary database, Damirias Dantas, Alexis Prince and Blake Dietrick are not signed for 2019. Since all three are bench players and played sparingly, they can be replaced with either some new additions or get re-signed for one season.
The Atlanta Dream's offseason checklist won't be complete without getting star player Angel McCoughtry back in action. Although her absence was not felt in the regular season, it was felt in the playoffs when the Dream struggled in the semifinals. Angel McCoughtry is a star, but she is also a difference maker, and if the Dream wants to make a deep run in the 2019 WNBA playoffs, they will need her healthy and playing at a high level.
The Dream doesn't have much work to do in the offseason, but that doesn't mean that they should be complacent either, because the WNBA landscape can always change. This is a very good Atlanta Dream team, and with Angel back, they'll be a favorite to win the 2019 WNBA Championship.
